1. Do I ever have to give InboxBuddy my email password?
Never. For Gmail, Outlook/Hotmail and Yahoo Mail, you authorise InboxBuddy through the provider’s official OAuth 2.0 screen. For iCloud Mail, Apple provides a revocable App-Specific Token. You can disconnect access in one click at any time.
2. What happens to deleted emails? Could you delete my tax returns or invoices?
Tax/HMRC correspondence, invoices, receipts, bank statements, bills and travel confirmations are locked inside our Protected Categories shield. Even clutter you approve for cleaning is moved to your InboxBuddy Vault inside your own mailbox, where it stays until you restore or delete it yourself.
3. What is the difference between deleting, unsubscribing and blocking?
Deleting removes existing messages from your inbox view. Unsubscribing sends an official request to a newsletter’s List-Unsubscribe header so they stop emailing you. Blocking/filtering sets a rule so future emails from a nuisance sender skip your inbox. We never block essential senders just because they email frequently.
4. How do WhatsApp alerts work, and do you send my private email body over WhatsApp?
Once InboxBuddy Plus launches (planned early access price £4.99/mo), you’ll be able to opt in to receive concise notifications (e.g., “Your electricity bill has arrived”) during your chosen active hours. By default, we never send sensitive full email contents over WhatsApp — only a brief alert and a secure link to open the message in your email app.
5. Can I pay now? How will I pause or cancel later?
Not yet: InboxBuddy is in early access, so there is no checkout and nobody is charged. Join early access and we’ll email you when it opens. After launch, open the Manage Subscription page or your Customer Dashboard and click Pause or Cancel Subscription. It takes one click with zero retention obstacles or phone calls.

1. Service Description: InboxBuddy (“A cleaner inbox. Less stress. More time.”) provides user-directed email classification, clutter cleanup and optional WhatsApp important-mail alerts.
2. Customer Approval Before Action & the Vault: InboxBuddy never permanently deletes email. Before any change you see a review screen listing what will move and why, and nothing happens until you approve it. Cleaned mail is moved to an “InboxBuddy Vault” label (Gmail) or folder (Outlook) inside your own mailbox — not to Trash, which empties automatically. You can restore any email, a whole sender, or a whole clean in one tap; only you can choose to delete vaulted mail.
3. Early access & planned pricing: InboxBuddy is currently in early access. Checkout is switched off, no payments are taken and no subscriptions exist. Planned prices (subject to change before launch): one-off cleaning £1.99 per email account (up to 50,000 messages); InboxBuddy Plus £4.99/month; Family & Pro £9.99/month. Joining the early access list is free and does not commit you to buy anything.
4. Pre-Payment Compatibility & Refunds: If your email provider tier does not support external OAuth/IMAP connections (such as free Mail.com accounts), we disclose this prior to payment and provide a full 14-day refund if a cleanup cannot be completed.
Privacy Policy & Data Retention Notice (UK GDPR)

1. No email passwords: Gmail and Outlook are connected only through Google’s and Microsoft’s official OAuth sign-in. We never see or store your email password. Your OAuth refresh token is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and you can disconnect and revoke it at any time. Live Gmail/Outlook connection is switched on only once Google and Microsoft have approved InboxBuddy; until then you can try the cleaner on a built-in sample mailbox, which never touches real email.
2. What we read: To sort your mail we read message headers and labels — sender, subject, date, read/starred flags, provider categories (e.g. Promotions), List-Unsubscribe and List-Id — plus the addresses you have sent mail to, so people you correspond with are always kept. We do not download email bodies or attachments, and no email content is written to our logs.
3. The InboxBuddy Vault lives in your mailbox: We never permanently delete email. Mail you approve for cleaning is moved to an “InboxBuddy Vault” label/folder inside your own Gmail/Outlook account (not Trash, which empties automatically). Older important mail may be archived (removed from the inbox, still in All Mail) if you choose. You can restore anything in one tap, or delete it yourself (it then goes to your provider’s Bin).
4. What we store, and for how long: For the vault screen we store only metadata for cleaned messages — sender, subject, date, the reason it was cleaned and the provider’s message ID — tied to your account and visible only to you. During a scan we hold temporary sender statistics and a compact per-message index (no bodies); this scan data and the list of addresses you have emailed are deleted as soon as the clean finishes or is abandoned. We also store your Always-keep / Always-block lists and the block rules we created so you can undo them. We remind you to review vaulted mail after your chosen period (default 90 days) but never delete it automatically.
5. Unsubscribing & block rules: For senders you approve, we create a filter/rule in your mailbox so future mail skips your inbox and goes to the vault, and we send the sender’s official one-click unsubscribe request (RFC 8058) where offered. We never open other unsubscribe links on your behalf — we show them to you instead.
6. Your rights & erasure: Data is never sold or used to train AI models. You can disconnect your mailbox and delete your stored preferences, vault metadata and audit logs at any time from your dashboard, or by contacting support.
7. Early access list: If you join early access we store your name, email, email provider (Gmail/Outlook/other), rough inbox size, the campaign link you arrived from (if any) and a one-way hash of your IP address for spam protection — never your raw IP. Only the InboxBuddy owner can see this list. We use it only to invite you when your place opens; ask us via Contact and we’ll delete it.
8. WhatsApp alerts: Sent only after explicit opt-in and contain short summaries rather than full email content.
